Stila Convertible Colour Trio In Warm

Hello there beautiful. I feel like I have been really neglecting you guys, I tried to schedule a few posts but didn't get to do as many as I'd like and unfortunately my life is rather hectic at the moment (This next little chunk is a ramble of why I'm so busy!). When I found out I was pregnant with my little boy, it was a HUGE shock. I was told it would be almost impossible for me to conceive without fertility treatment, so as you can imagine being in a warm trusting relationship, contraception was the least of my worries. After a trip to the doctors (Where I expected to be told I'd need an operation on my ovaries) I was told I was pregnant. I was so shocked, excited and amazed that it was actually happening to me. As much as we all wanted my baby, If we'd have known, we would have planned a little ahead. At the minute I still live at home with family with my baby and my better half lives at home with his family too. Its really nice having support from my family but we do now need our own space as our own new family. Now this is where my time is currently going, After spending unreal amounts of time looking for the perfect home we have finally found it. So now I'm arranging what work needs doing, decor, appliances and so on. So if I'm a little slower with posts, I do apologise! I still love you all and adore writing. 

I've been eyeing up the infamous Convertible Colours by Stila for quite some time, but always spent too much time um-ing and ah-ing over which shade to buy. That is, until a couple of weeks ago when I heard about their trio palettes and just knew that I had to own one. There are two palettes available, 'Cool' and 'Warm', each consisting of three shades - two classic favourites and one exclusive, limited edition shade. Perfect for an indecisive girl like me! After a little to-ing and fro-ing between which palette to buy, I settled with Warm. 

Gerbera and Camellia are the classic shades and Honeysuckle is the limited edition shade. All of the colours would work really well with all skin tones. My skin is looking slightly warmer this summer so this palette is just perfect for me. Although I do prefer Gerbera Myself! The palette is dual purpose and although the colours work exceptionally well on the lip, Its as a blusher where they really excel. The formula is very creamy and glossy and it's really well pigmented. You can wear it for a sheer and natural look or really build up a strong colour if you so desire. The product applies like a dream. It looks really pretty applied using fingers or I use my Real Techniques Lip or Stippling Brushes to achieve a perfectly polished look.  

The Packaging is nice too. The purple box is amazingly pretty and i can't bring myself to discard it so i keep my palette safe in that. the palette is cased in nice shiny black plastic and the set has a mirror to which is incredibly handy. The products smell really nice and the products last for a decent amount of time on the skin. once applied the blush lasts all day, the lips do need a touch up though as to be expected.

I have found that these colours seem to last forever, so as far as value for money goes, I don't see any reason why this palette wouldn't last over a year of everyday use. I'm now exceptionally tempted to purchase the cool palette too. The palettes are a steal at the price of £23.00, especially considering you receive three shades and a single Stila shade costs £16.00. I bought mine from Feel Unique. To summarise, really pretty colours, wearable, versatile and great value for money. If you need a new blush or are after a new lip product, I'd highly recommend that you give one of these palettes a try, you wont be disappointed. Do you love Stila products? ELF: Eyes Lips Face HD Blush Showstopper

Hello there beautiful! I feel like I've been really neglecting my little blog these past few days and I've even missed two #bbloggers chat's on twitter, shame on me! Unfortunately sometimes life takes over and you just have to put blogging on the back burner. BOO. I do have a little more time to myself these coming days so I will try and schedule and write as often as I can. Today's post is about ELF HD Blush in Showstopper. I had a little spare cash floating around in a paypal account and decided to buy myself some new make up, I wanted to try something that I wouldn't normally go for and this really caught my eye. I do absolutely adore blush but always seem to go for palettes, powders or creams so this squirty bottle was something a little new to me. I'd never normally buy plum colour blushes, I'm very much a coral or pink girl but I do feel that sometimes I miss out of discovering some fantastic products for fear of the unknown. The colour doesn't look as Harsh once its been blended properly although it is still a really strong well pigmented colour. I would like to try more colours from the range,because as much as I do love this I feel it would suit my skin tone better in winter months. It does look more of a deep plum pink on the skin.

The Blush isn't the easiest of blushes to use. The tiniest amount goes a LONG way. If you do buy this use the smallest amount you can and build it up to get the desired effect that you want, otherwise that blob is really going to make you look clown like. I did squirt this onto the palm of my hand and use my Real Techniques Stippling brush and after a little practice I managed to get this to sit and look perfect and flawless. The product is very fluid and personally I feel it adds a little stain to the cheek. Its best to be quick with this Blush. I'm not so sure where the HD comes into it in my opinion Bourjois cream blushes photograph and wear better.

The packaging is really quite nice. Its plain and sophisticated. Its great that you can see the colour of the product through the casing. The pump works brilliantly and its easy to choose how much or little you want to dispense. This blush cost me £3.75 for 10 ml. It Isn't as cheap as some other blushes made by ELF but I think they have the pricing just right. I wouldn't pay any more for this as as its fiddly to apply but I feel that once its on, it deserves its price tag. Maybe a tweak in formula to make this a little creamier would be the answer. Overall a good cheap cream blush, good pigmented colour but a little monster to apply.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Hi! Having a six month old can be very tiring and sometimes sleep just doesn't happen. A mixture of these two can leave your skin feeling rather undesirable. I think all new mums (and mums who have been mums for quite a while) always want to look at there best and like they have had a good nights sleep (even if they haven't). I need something to "Wake Me Up" and say bye bye to tiredness. 

I've been a blog reader for quite some time now and although I do occasionally jump on the "hype" bandwagon, when this product started popping up all over, left right and centre on every blog page going, It didn't appeal to me. Its only since becoming a mummy that It's started to gain my interest. I have followed the lovely Kayleigh at her Couture Girl blog since she started it, I really love some of the products Kayleigh features and after whilst searching for a miracle product I noticed this foundation popping up on her blog quite a lot I decided to give it a try! Thanks for the posts Kayleigh keep up the good work!  

The Packaging is really nice. I love the bright acid orange cap. It makes it so easy to find this foundation when your rummaging around in your make up bag. The instructions and information are clear, well written and easy to follow. As far as appearance goes, this drug store foundation is a winner. No one can accuse this of being boring. 

This Foundation is really very versatile. No matter what skin type you have, it seems to adapt to give you good coverage and it really hides problem areas. My mum uses this foundation now too and no matter what age you are it just seems to work. It doesn't sit in any lines, it blends really well (I use fingers or my Real Techniques Brushes). 

My normal Foundation is Chanel and as much as I love it, I prefer the consistency of Rimmel. It isn't as runny or liquid so it is easier to apply. It feels more like a face cream than a foundation. Rimmel have really got the formula right as its not heavy or "cakey" either. The Foundation is build-able so no matter what type of coverage you want, you can achieve those results. 

This foundation does contain a slight shimmer but it is barely noticeable, the little hint of shimmer simply makes you look more freshened. It's a really dewy foundation and it brightens up your face without leaving you concious of feeling like a disco ball. The foundation sits on the skin really well and doesn't look patch or uneven.When the foundation is applied flaws are barely visible, so if like me you suffer from the occasional blemish, or like my mum who has rosea, this will hide everything. Team it with a good primer, good concealer and even the most problem of skins will look perfected. Hd photograph ready. 

The product has really good staying power, even after a long day of running around doing the shopping, washing, bottles, hoovering, mopping, cooking, cleaning and having my six month old spit his broccoli at me and, I still maintain a bit of glam. 

A yummy mummy essential, and if like Kate Moss you like to party, its perfect for you too, and your nan.

Benefit Posie Tint Review

Hello everybody! Hope life is treating you well. I'd like to introduce you all to a beloved friend of mine Posie Tint from Benefit. I was talked into buying this at a make up counter and boy am I glad I was. I was very reluctant to use it at first as the thought of "staining" your face sounded too risky.

With a little bit of precision and a careful hand (or brush) this product applies amazingly well (especially as its dual purpose, for lips and the cheek). I use it with the applicator it comes with and swoop it across my cheek bone and give it a rub and its perfect blush, it works well with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush too. What I love about this product is its so universal, it applies to the lips for a natural glow too. The applicator it comes with is great for the cupids bow, or I sometimes transfer the product onto a Real Techniques lip brush for high definition results. I have used specialist lip tints before such as MUA Kiss Proof Lip Stain and I do prefer the build-able colour results Posie Tint achieves. You could apply a slick of clear gloss over the top for a transition for day time to night time. As for the cheek, it doesn't look powdery or fake like some multi purpose cheek products do.

The packaging is really pretty. Its very much like a models own nail varnish in size. The cap secures really well so there are no leaks or spills. I adore the pink shiny base. Isn't it cute?

I did nearly run a mile when I realised how PINK the contents were but, don't be conned into thinking at your face will end up that colour. The product blends to leave a nice "pinched cheek" shade. As a girl I was always told blusher should look like I've just stepped into the heat from a cold winters day and this is the result I get with this product. Lovely thick, creamy consistency. Soft to the touch.

Posie Tint lasts FOREVER. I have had this bottle for over 6 months now and I still have half a bottle. Available to buy from Boots at £24 for 50 ml its brilliant value for money.

Personally I find this a must have in any make- up bag. Brilliant for travel. The longevity and staying power of this cosmetic are amazing, It can last into the next day unless you use a good make up remover. It does remove with ease if you use a good make up remover. Soap and water will budge it but it would take a lot of washing. Holiday planned? going to be in the sea? pool? This is for you.

The only fault I can find with this are its quite quick drying, so once it touches the skin, you've got to get it blended quickly (especially on the cheek), otherwise you could end up blotchy/ streaky. If you needed a fake cheek look for Halloween or a children's party, this product makes that infamous perfect circular clown cheek but only if you leave it to dry in the place you put it and don't blend. Not what you might want to hear on a make up review BUT as long as you tailor the way your using the product it will meet your every need.

ELF Eyes Lips Face Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder Luminance

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by. Today's post is about my ELF bronzer. With the odd flashes of sun we are blessed with every now and then, It's nice to have golden godess skin.

I purchased this bronzer a while back from the ELF website for the tiny price of just £1.50, I didn't expect it to be up to much and I intended on popping it in the little make up bag that I use for out and about. Yes, it might sound strange that I have a out and about cheaper bag, BUT, I have lost my make up bag when travelling in the past before. If you tot up how much moneys worth of product is in your kit, you can imagine how much it cost me to replace. £1.50 isn't something you'd cry about if you left it in a taxi, on a bus or airport.

I was pleasantly surprised by this bronzer. It isn't the type of bronzer I usually go for, I love Matte as opposed to anything with a shimmer. I do make the exception with this bronzer, when applied lightly and carefully this bronzer's shimmer is fantastic at contouring cheek bones and adding definition to eye/ brow bones and jaw lines. Its very highlighting. As the name Luminance would suggest, it illuminates the areas where you want definition.

The packaging is very basic, it doesn't look unsightly but it isn't the prettiest of pots. It has a good longevity when used with a good primer. It doesn't crumble easily when transferring to a brush so it doesn't leave you feeling patchy when applied. Its very easy to apply I use my Real Techniques Blush Brush and always get flawless results. If you love shimmer this will be perfect for you, if not, give it ago as a highlighter teamed with your usual bronzer.

For the price tag, its worth a try. Anyone else use this or one of the other shades?

Chanel Vitalumiere Satin smoothing Fluid Makeup SPF 15: Foundation

Hello there beautiful! Today's review is about my Chanel Vitalumiere foundation. I've owned this product for a good few weeks now and it's been my favourite foundation to date. 

Chanel Vitalumiere is described as a "Satin Smoothing Fluid Make up" with SPF 15. The little leaflet that came with it goes on to say "bringing a radiantly youthful smooth satin make up finish and a light, moisturising texture... your complexion is visibly rested, immediately on application, the photo reflective pigments have an optical smoothing effect. Fine lines and blemishes are softened and your complexion has a visibly more youth appearance, your skin is energized, the presence of an energizing ingredient, derived from brown seaweed, which is renowned for its stimulating properties helps to give the complexion an immediate "healthy glow".

This foundation feels amazing and its really light and dewy. It gives a lovely glow without being greasy. It's perfect for my normal to dry skin. I'd say steer clear if you have an oily complexion as it may emphasise that. The product apply's really well to the skin and gives a light to medium coverage. It stays put throughout the day and helps to keep skin soft and subtle. One of the things I love about this product, is if you do feel you need to have a little more coverage, its very build-able. It looks just as nice applied with fingers as it does with a brush. I find I get the best results using Real Techniques Pointed Foundation and Buffing Brush. A little goes a long way as far as this product is concerned so don't get pump happy. If you like a really natural finish this is the foundation for you.

I chose shade 10 Limpide- Nude. I do believe it's the lightest shade of the collection and in summer it matches brilliantly, but, I would have liked to see a larger range of colours so I could have got a lighter shade for winter too . I don't usually use a foundation with an SPF as I tend to apply sun screen anyway but its nice in case you forget on the chillier days. The reason I tend to avoid product containing sun screen is I don't really trust the level of SPF, surely a foundation behaves differently to a sun cream? On warm days I prefer to be bare faced too . 

The only real issues I have with this foundation are packaging and price. My quibble with the Packaging is that as its a "pump" bottle and the contents are really quite fluid, sometimes the product leeks into the cap. I'd be very wary of dropping this into a handbag. The plastic cap doesn't seem overly strong either. I purchased my foundation at the Chanel counter at House Of Fraser and it set me back £34.00 for a 30 ml bottle. I do appreciate Chanel is a high end premium brand but still, it's a lot. Drug Store Foundations are coming along way and for Chanel to keep producing foundations at this cost, they might loose out on customers. Anywhere up to £30.00 would be more reasonable. 


If this is something you intend on wearing everyday it would be a good investment. As much as I love this, and adore the brand, I think I'll be looking at cheaper liquid foundations when this runs out.
